5:2 Though Judah was the strongest among his brothers and a leader descended from him, ¹  the right of the firstborn belonged to Joseph.)

11:21 From ²  the three he was given double honor and he became their officer, even though he was not one of them. ³ 

[5:2]  ¹ tn Heb “and [one] for a leader [was] from him.” This probably refers to the Davidic king.

[11:21]  ² tn Or “more than.”

[11:21]  ³ tn Heb “of the three.”
